Mr He Xiantu was born in Zhenhai,Ningbo and is a research fellow and PhD supervisor of Institute of Applied Physics and Computational Mathematics (IAPCM) in Beijing now.From June 1986 to Nov.1987,he was a senior research fellow at Institute of Physical Science and Technology and Department of Physics of Maryland University of USA.From Nov to Dec.1987,he was a visiting professor and gave lectures in Universite Libre de Bruxelles.Since 1988,he was promoted as a research fellow and later the vice director of Science and Technology Committee of the institute,vice director of the institute,a PhD supervisor,Director of High Temperature High Density Plasma Key Experiment Lab and Vice team leader of lnertial Confinement Fusion(ICF) team at China Academy of Engineering Physics.Since 1989,he became the team leader of expert team in ICF project evaluation board for National High-tech projects.In Oct.1995,he became an academician of Chinese Academy of Sciences.He has also been a member and chief secretary of National"863"ICF expert team since 1996 to 2001.
      He is also a direcot of Chinese Nuclear Science Association,a member of evaluation board for National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC),chief scientist in charge of "Non-linear Science" project in National "Climbing Plan Programs".He published over 120 trearises in domestic and international journals which received warm appraisal and are enthusiastically quoted both domestic and internationally.He received a second-class award of National Natural Science Awards,a first and a second-class of National Science Advancement Award and 7 ministerial awards.He is also a recipient of national special allowance.In 2000,he was received the HO Leung Ho Lee Award.
